A world-class bobsleigh, luge and skeleton track will be built soon in the town of Chusovoy located in the Russian region of Perm, the press office of the local administration told Construction.RU on Thursday.
The official added that investments into the construction works and the facility’s equipment would be allocated from the federal budget and would amount 2,6 bln roubles. The project of this large sports facility has already undergone a state construction expertise and was endorsed by the Transport Ministry of Russia.
In the judgement of Walter Plaikner, a representative from the International Federation for Luge Sports, who arrived in Chusovoy on the 7th of September, the track might become one of the best in the world.
In particular, a system of artificial freezing of water has been installed there, what acquits the facility from dependence on weather.
