Turkmenia completes construction of its section of Turkmenia - Afghanistan - Tajikistan main railway line, the country’s state information agency said yesterday citing the Railway Transport Ministry.
At present, 82 km of rails have been laid at Turkmenian section with the total length of 85 km. Dirt fill has been prepared for 85 km of railway, sand and gravel mix was spreaded along 82,2 km of it. Apart from that, two railway bridges with the width of 5 meters and the length of 256 meters are being erected.
Construction of reinforced concrete piers of the bridge has been completed, mounting of metal span constructions is underway. Also, dirt fill for a highway running along the railway has also been prepared.
This transportation corridor is designed to unite communication systems of three states and is expected to increase by several times a turnout between Turkmenia, Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
