Building Turkish Stream offshore gas pipeline to start in 2017 – Gazprom CEO

Construction of Turkish Stream offshore gas pipeline will begin in the second half of the year 2017, both strings are planned to be put in operation in time, until the end of 2019, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alexey Miller, told reporters.




“Today, we can speak with confidence that in the second half of the year 2017, construction of an offshore gas pipeline of Turkish Stream will be launched,” Gazprom CEO said.

The Energy Ministry of Russia, Alexander Novak, announced earlier that pipeline building would start in 2017, while the construction completion date, both of onshore and offshore sections, were scheduled for the end of the year 2019.

We should remind you that on October 10, 2016, Russia and Turkey signed an intergovernmental agreement on Turkish Stream project.
