Extra $174 million to be allocated to building railway bypassing Ukraine

Chairman of the Russian Government, Dmitry Medvedev, signed a decree on the redistribution of unused state contributions to the authorized capital of JSC Russian Railways, according to documents published on the official government’s website.




Funds in the amount of 10 billion rubles, that is $174 million, which were intended to be used in 2017 for the modernization of Mezhdurechensk-Taishet railway line — the southern route of the Trans-Siberian Railway — will be allocated this year to the construction of a railway line Prokhorovka-Zhuravka-Chertkovo-Bataysk, a so-called “Ukraine’s bypass”).

Also, the Head of the Government instructed the Ministries of Transport and Finance of the Russian Federation to allocate 10 billion rubles for the completion of the project for the development of Mezhdurechensk-Taishet railway when drawing up the federal budget for 2018.
