On December 20, 2019, supplies of Russian natural gas to China via a Power of Siberia pipeline will be launched.
This statement was made by the head of the Russian gas corporation Gazprom, Alexey Miller, during his conversation with reporters in Moscow. According to Mr. Miller, this date and the volume of supplies were determined under an agreement signed by Gazprom and Chinese CNPC. The negotiations will move into their closing stage in autumn this year.
At the same time, the project for gas supplies from the Russian Far East to China will become a continuation of the “Eastern” route.
As a reference, Power of Siberia is a gas pipeline under construction designed to transport natural gas from the Russian region of Yakutia to the Far East countries.
