Kaliningrad authorities are looking for an investor to implement a $250-million dry port project near the city of Chernyakhovsk, where an industrial park is planned to be opened.

This statement was made by the regional Governor Anton Alikhanov at the Eurasian Transit Forum in Kaliningrad.

Earlier it was reported that the Development Corporation of the Kaliningrad region proposed to implement a logistics project for transshipment, sorting, and storage of cargoes moving along the route of the New Silk Road, the Eurasian land bridge from China to Europe, on the basis of the future industrial park Chernyakhovsk.

In September 2017, the project was recognized as the best regional project of Vnesheconombank, which became the winner among 28 applications from 13 regions.

“The city of Chernyakhovsk is one of the major railway junctions where the Russian and European railway formats are combined. We are now developing a large project, its total cost is $250 million, we are looking for an investor to implement this big project. We have individual companies that show interest in creating a large logistics hub on this territory”, Alikhanov said, referring to a “dry port”.
