The Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities has held a meeting with the Chairman of Board of the Chinese “JuntsinIndiChanshiKaifa” company, Chan Pengfei.
As the ministry’s press office told Construction.ru, the parties discussed attracting Chinese investment to the Russian construction industry.
“We are implementing a state program to provide Russian citizens with available housing, so we need to build 140m square meters a year. That’s why we are interested in attracting investment in housing construction. It is an important task that we are solving together”, Mikhail Menn said during the meeting.
The Minister also stressed that the sphere of utilities has been reformed, and the ground is now ready for private investors entering this sector of the economy.
The head of the Chinese delegation, Chan Pengfei, said that his company is ready to invest in real estate construction in Russia, both housing and commercial. The investment volume may total $1.5 bln. The company’s portfolio created with the contribution of state capital contains projects being erected on a territory of 8,000 hectares. 3m square meters of realty are being sold. The head of the company also said that he is ready to consider investment in the utility sphere.
