The Russian Ministry of Defense will provide equipment for 24 transshipment and logistics hubs, which will replace 330 bases and warehouses on the border with Ukraine.




As “Kommersant” reports, this reform will allow for the reduction of the cost of the object down to 14.8 bln roubles. Besides this, the Ministry of Defense addressed private investors, who are ready to finance the construction of six transshipment and logistics hubs within three military districts.

At present, in Naro-Fominsk in the Moscow region, the “Nara” hub is being built, which is capable of storing 220,000 tons of material resources, and 4,700 weapons and special vehicles.

A transshipment and logistics hub will be also built in Sevastopol by 2017, and by 2016 in the Mikhailovskoye, Koysug, Krasnoflotsky, Armavir and Buturlinovka communities.

According to the paper, the command of the Southern, Central and Eastern military districts has been ordered to start preparations in the territories for the hub’s construction by the 1st of April.
