The contract price for the supplies of Russian gas to Ukraine in the 2nd quarter of this year will amount to less than $180 per one thousand cubic meters.
This is what the Minister of Energy of Russia, Alexander Novak, said on Friday to reporters. He specified that Gazprom hasn't yet addressed the government with a request to grant Ukraine a discount on its contract price for gas.
However, he has repeatedly indicated that, from the 1st of April, Russia will not grant a gas discount to Ukraine.
It should be mentioned that the gas discount provided to Ukraine was terminated on the 1st of April. Before that, the “winter package” from the Russian Federation had ceased to be effective.
