Within the course of the reconstruction work conducted at the Monastery of the Holy Dormition in the Russian town of Sarov, human bones have been found.
The ancient human remains have been carefully removed from the ground, examined, described in the relative documents and placed into separate boxes in one of the monastery’s churches, the regional press office told Construction.ru.
At present, Sarov museum officials are establishing whom these bones might belong to, according to archival records. After that, the human remains will be reinterred in their historic place.
As a reference, the monastery was blown up in the 1950s, and its entire renovation started in 2016.
