The current director of the federal and regional programs of Norilsk Nickel, Dmitry Pristanskov, will become the new head of the Federal Property Management Agency of Russia (Rosimuschestvo).

The top manager of Norilsk Nickel, the world's largest producer of nickel and palladium and one of the leading producers of platinum and copper, Mr Pristanskov will direct the department in his capacity as the Deputy Head of the Economic Development Ministry, Kommersant newspaper reported on Friday.

The former head of the Agency, Olga Dergunova, has been removed from this post after she did a poor job of carrying out a large-scale privatization. However, that was the purpose of Ms Dergunova’s appointment as Rosimuschestvo head in 2012.

Now, according to the available data, Olga Dergunova might get a well-paid but less demanding job as Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Council of VTB Bank.

As the new head of the Federal Property Management Agency of Russia, Dmitry Pristanskov will have to take care of the budget at the expense of the Rosneft, Bashneft, ALROSA, Sovkomflot and VTB Bank privatizations.
