Rosatom sells its stake in Turkey’s nuclear power station

Akkuyu Nuclear JSC, 74.92% of which is owned by Rosatom Overseas JSC of Rosatom, intends to sell 49% of its stake in the construction project of the “Akkuyu” Turkish nuclear power station.




According to Turkish media, the available data shows that the national Cengiz Insaat company is interested in purchasing it.

It should be mentioned that Rosatom’s project to erect a power plant in Turkey is one of the major joint energy projects carried out by Moscow and Ankara. The “Akkuyu” nuclear power station will consist of four reactor blocks with a total capacity of 4800 MW.

The cost of work at this construction site is estimated at $22 bln. Meanwhile, Russia has already put about $3 bln into the project.
