The Russian Interior Ministry has initiated a criminal case over the embezzlement of budgetary funds by the head of the building company conducting the work at the construction site of the Vostochny Cosmodrome.
This what the Ministry’s official spokesman, Irina Volk, told reporters in Moscow on Wednesday.
According to the investigators, in 2014 the company’s leadership concluded the contract with the customer to carry out construction and assembly work at Vostochny Cosmodrome. Following this agreement, the company received an advanced payment.
Meanwhile, the head of the company spent over 76m roubles of these targeted funds to pay off loans.
The criminal case has been initiated under the article of Russian Criminal Code named “Embezzlement of the property of another, entrusted to the accused, and committed on an especially large scale”.
