Military infrastructure objects in the Arctic are being supplied with construction materials in connection with the beginning of the summer season.
The special-purpose objects are to be erected on the islands of Earth of Alexandra, Kotelny, Vrangel, and Sredny, as well as on the Cape of Schmidt and in Rogachevo and Tiksi settlements, the Special Construction Agency press office told Construction.ru.
In May, over 10,000 tons of construction cargo has been delivered to the sites. The main volume (more than 190,000 tons) of traffic will coincide with the period from June to October.
The cargo delivery will be accompanied by an ice-breaker and helicopters. A total amount of 180,000 tons of cargo have been delivered to the Arctic for construction purposes in 2014-2015.
