The construction industry is one of the most potentially dynamic on the market, producing about 6% of Russia's GDP. This industry has all of the prerequisites to become one of the key drivers of the Russian economy’s growth.
This is what the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, said on Tuesday in his address to the RF State Council during its session on the issue of the construction complex development. The President stressed that 84.2 m sq. m of housing were put into operation in Russia in 2014 and 85 m sq. m last year. Meanwhile, the volume of economy-class housing has increased by 20%.
These notable indicators have been attained due to the Town-planning Code of Russia, adopted 10 years ago, which has harmonized the regulatory framework in the field of construction.
It's crucial to fully unlock the enormous potential of the construction industry now, said Vladimir Putin.
