Chinese Science Ministry has presented its project to construct a deep-sea platform 10,000 feet below the surface. Apart from being used for natural resources exploration, the facility will be used for military purposes, Bloomberg reports.
The object will be situated on the seabed of the South China Sea, the disputed territory, claimed by China, Vietnam, and the Philippines. However, the exact location of the projected platform isn't still known, neither does the price of the project.
80% of the South China Sea's area is claimed by China to be its territory, where it has been erecting artificial islands.
Building of this deep-sea platform is the second most important Chinese national scientific project.
