Plant producing fries for McDonald`s to be erected in Central Russia

Lamb Weston / Meijer, a Dutch company, and Russian “Belaya Dacha” company have signed an agreement to build a plant producing fries. The facility is to be located in Lipetsk, the city situated in the Central District of the Russian Federation.




According to “Vedomosti” newspaper, the project cost is estimated at €100 m, 60% of which will be financed by Sberbank, Russian state-owned bank.

The plant construction will start no later than at the end of summer on the territory of the “Lipetsk” special economic zone. The facility is scheduled to be put into operation by 2018 and will release products intended for McDonald`s restaurants and outlet chain. McDonald`s is reported to be the largest consumer.

“Belaya Dacha” planned to build such a plant as far back as 2014, but the project was halted due to the international sanctions imposed upon Russia.
