Russia and Turkey restore bilateral cooperation

On Wednesday, at the initiative of the Russian party, President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, had a telephone conversation with Head of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reports the Kremlin press office.




The statement says that Russian President expressed his deep condolences in connection with a terror attack in Istanbul airport. Both parties emphasized the necessity to promote international cooperation in the field of counterterrorism activity.

Vladimir Putin said that he would give an assignment to the government to enter negotiations with the relative Turkish departments in order to restore mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in the field of trade and commerce, as well as in other areas.

The Presidents agreed on the meeting of Foreign Ministers of both countries in the 1st of July in Sochi to discuss the further development of Turkish-Russian relations.
