The authorities of the capital city of Russia will build direct highways instead of the Fourth Ring Road, Moscow Mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, said in a radio interview on Friday.
Besides this, according to Mayor, the construction of the Fourth Ring Road in Moscow can hardly be realized. For that purpose, it would be necessary to acquire private or state owned large territories and pay enormous compensations.
Experts also oppose this construction project and spoke with a single voice about its law efficiency. That is why two main direct highways are under construction now in Moscow — the North-Western and the North-Eastern, as well as the Southern lateral road.
It is these roads that are designed to lessen the load by 15-20% on the Moscow Ring Road and the Third Transportation Ring.
