Investments in the construction of new electric generating stations in the Kaliningrad region will amount to 100 bln roubles, Inter RAO documents say.
The matter concerns the construction of four electric generating stations in the region, three of which will be gas-fired and one coal-fired plant.
On Thursday, the construction of the three new gas-fired stations was launched in the Guryev district of the city of Kaliningrad, in Sovetsk and Gusev. Capacity of the first one will be 440 MW, and 156 MW of the second and third each.
The stations will ensure energy security of the region and will make Kaliningrad energy system more manoeuvreable. In prospect, the generated energy might be exported to the Baltic and North-Western European states.
