On Tuesday, a huge construction crane collapsed onto the newly-built Tappan Zee Bridge just outside New York City, having caused injuries to 3 drivers and 2 workers, with a crane operator pulled from the water, CBS News reports.
The investigators haven’t revealed yet, why the 90ft machine fell down.
All victims received minor injuries, the representative of Rockland County Executive Ed Day said. Traffic on the bridge was closed after the crane’s collapse. The investigators have already ruled out weather as a factor, abc7ny.com reports.
The state's longest bridge connects the city with New York's busiest counties of Westchester and Rockland, carrying over 130,000 vehicles per day.
