Destroyed buildings in Palmyra will be reconstructed, whereas there will be no new building construction in the city, Syrian ambassador to Russia, Riad Haddad, said at a press conference on Thursday.
According to the Syrian official, Syria submitted to the Russian party a national plan of works for 2016 – 2022. The works will be executed in partnership with Russian, Syrian and international specialists and under the aegis of UNESCO. This measure will allow to take into account all scientific standards and international experience in the field of renovation of ruined buildings.
As it was previously reported, in July Russian specialists visited a historical and archaeological complex in Palmyra in Syria and prepared an analysis involving calculation of the financing amount needed to restore the monuments damaged by terrorists.
