Germany intends to finance renovation of a school, which was destroyed by earthquake in Italy, the Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Wednesday over the course of a press conference with the participation of Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, held in a northern Italian city of Maranello.
“We were pondering over what help Germany render in renovation. We would be pleased to finance renovation of one of the schools. For that purpose, the investment will be made on the part of the government, as well as by German business circles, with representatives of which we are meeting tonight,” said Angela Merkel.
A 6,0 magnitude earthquake hit central Italy on the 24th of August. According to the latest data, 294 people died as a result of the earthquake and over 3,000 lost shelter.
