Russia is preparing a techno-economic justification for hydro power plant construction in Laos, however, the negotiations are far from over, a Vice Prime Minister of Russia, Sergei Prikhodko told reporters.
“We are interested in the construction of a hydro power plant in Laos. At present, we are working on the corresponding techno-economic justification,” he said at a briefing devoted to Russia’s participation in The XI East Asia Summit (EAS), which took place in Laos on the 7th and 8th of September with the participation of Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev.
Sergei Prikhodko reminded that such Russian giants as Rosneft and Gazprom also take an interest in cooperation with Laos in the area of energy. According to him, Rosneft is interested in oil supplies to this country, whereas Gazprom seeks cooperation in hydrocarbon extraction.
