Total expenses on project of Rail Baltica connecting railways of Baltic states with Europe will amount to at least 5 bln euro, having exceeded the previously forecast sum of 3,68 bln euro.
The project envisages construction of a railway line with a gauge width of the European standard.
“More detailed information on the expenditure will be after all Baltic countries approve the plan. First of all, it’s necessary to find out, what exactly we will build,” said Chairman of Board of Directors of RB Rail joint enterprise.
The same day a number of organizations and governmental bodies of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania signed an agreement on purchase model upon the project.
