For the purpose to heighten interest of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which was formed during the breakup of the Soviet Union, in financing of this regional organization, it’s necessary to prepare for implementation new joint ambitious plans.

This is what President of Belarus, Alexander Lukoshenko, said at a meeting with the heads of CIS and EuroAsian Economic Community’s governmental delegations.

In his opinion, CIS needs common economic growth points based on principles of industrial, investment and scientific cooperation. First of all, interaction in the field of exploration and peaceful uses of outer space should be developed.

Mayor joint space project established on a basis of the CIS countries’ resources consolidation might become the basis for that.
