EBRD allocates $68m to bridge construction in Kazakhstan

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) approved financing of the project for building a bridge across Bukhtarminsk reservoir in the eastern part of Kazakhstan, Interfax news agency reports on Wednesday citing Regional Center for Public and Private Partnership of Eastern Kazakhstan Region JSC.




The project is estimated at 23,5 billion Kazakhstan’s tenge, that is $68,2 million at a current exchange rates.

“At present, raw documentation is being worked out. Apart from that, survey and design work has been carried out, what included soil and water samples,” the company’s representative said.

Bukhtarminsk reservoir is Kazakhstan’s largest water storage basin, formed by the hydro power plant’s dam at the Irtysh River.
