Rusagro Group, one of Russia’s largest agriculture holdings, is going to start construction of pig farms near the city of Tambov, located 480 kilometers south-southeast of Moscow, in spring 2017.




“We are launching construction in spring next year,” said the representative of Rusagro, Mr. Basov.

On the 18th of November, Rusagro’s Board of Directors approved the start of a project of three pig farms construction in the Tambov region. The facilities are planned to be located not far from the operating farms owned by the company.

The capacity of the new farms will amount to 40 45,000 tons of pigs live weight annually. An amount of investment in the project totals 7,5 billion rubles.

As a reference, Rusagro Group is one of five major pig producers. About 70,7% of the company’s shares belong to the family of Vadim Moshkovich.
