Yesterday, co-chairman of the Russian-Swedish Business Council, Vladimir Dmitriev, took part in a Russian-Swedish investment forum at the Russian Trade Mission in Sweden.

Speaking at the event, Vladimir Dmitriev noted that Swedish companies preferred to stay in Russia, despite the current political tensions and economic sanctions imposed against Moscow over military conflict in Ukraine, TASS news agency reports.

He pointed out that “trade-economic relations continue in the ‘business as usual’ format.” Russian official added that a significant number of Swedish enterprises were engaged in production of component parts in Russia.

Moreover, Vladimir Dmitriev stressed that there were Swedish companies that not only stayed in Russia, but also made a decision to expand their business, and provided an example of IKEA to underpin his words.
