The President of Kyrgyzstan, Almazbek Atambayev, believes that Russian military base should leave the country as soon as the contract expires. This statement he made following a concluding press conference on Thursday.
Almazbek Atambayev provided an example the decision to close a U.S. aviation base adopted by the authorities of Kyrgyzstan in 2009.
“We did it right that we removed Gansi airbase, for all one may like it or not. Five later on I would say that we have to rely on our own capacities in future. This also concerns Russian military base as well,” Sputnik news agency in Kyrgyzstan cities the President.
Atambayev added that he got out this message to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the latter understood him.
