According to Washington Post, two developers bidding to construct a new headquarters for the FBI have ties with Donald Trump, who was elected the next President of the USA. The project is estimated at over $2 billion.
The first one developer, Steven Roth, was an economic adviser to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. He is also Trump’s co-owner of a building in Manhattan. The second one, Larry Silverstein, once was called friend by the President-elect. Both of them got acquainted with Trump three decades ago.
The existing FBI headquarters is situated on Pennsylvania Avenue and the current FBI Director James B. Comey has lobbied hard for a new building.
The developer, who will be awarded the project, not only will receive over $1 billion in federal appropriations, but also will get control of the current FBI headquarters property.
