Russia and Iran sign eight deals and agree on 2.2 bln euro credit

On Tuesday, over the course of a meeting of the Permanent Russian-Iranian intergovernmental commission on trade-economic cooperation, eight cooperation agreements between Russia and Iran have been signed in Tehran, TASS news agency reports.




The matter concerns a roadmap on trade and industrial cooperation, memorandum of understanding between the National Iranian Gas Company and Gazprom, memorandum of understanding between EXIAR and Iranian banks Parsiyan and Pasargad. The parties also signed two agreements, according to which Russia would extend loans to Iran intended to be used to build thermal power plants and electrify the railway.

According to the Energy Minister of Russia, Alexander Novak, the credits for Iran will total 2.2 billion euro.
