The European Union transferred the second tranche of its financial aid to Ukraine in amount of over €55 million, in accordance with the agreement concluded between the Ukrainian government and the European Commission in 2014, the press office of the Ukrainian Finance Ministry announced.
“Ukraine received the second tranche of the EU financial aid in amount of €55,125 million. This support means that the EU recognizes the reforms,” the Ministry’s representative said.
According to the data provided by the Finance Ministry of Ukraine, the non-repayable aid was provided to Kiev following the results of the European Commission’s evaluation of the reforms carried out in Ukraine. In particular, the matter concerns anticorruption efforts, as well as reforms in the field of government purchases and management of public finances.
