Blagoveshchensk city court sentenced a resident of the Russian city of Magnitogorsk to four year imprisonment for fraud (part 4 of 159 Article of the Russian Criminal Code) when selling construction materials for the Vostochny Cosmodrome – an ambitious space project under construction in Russia.

As Construction.RU was told today by the press office of the Amur regional department of the Russian Investigative Committee, at first, the convicted person purchased forged documents on Gigant LLC, as well as all required office machines and equipment from his acquaintance to establish business contacts with potential clients.

In August 2015, the man found a buyer via Internet, who, as it turned out later, represented Amurelektroshchit LLC. The representative of Amurelektroshchit LLC concluded a contract with Gigant LLC for the purchase of 20 tons of galvanized steel wire intended for the Vostochny Cosmodrome. The price of the contract totaled 1 million rubles.

Having received the sum of money, the defrauder disappeared and became out of touch.
