Apart from its vigorous efforts over ExoMars joint project, the European Space Agency (ESA) plans to develop cooperation with Russia over three projects for examination and exploration of the Moon, the head of the Agency's branch in Russia, Rene Pichel, announced on Wednesday.
“In December, 2016, the conference of ministers of the ESA's member countries approved in principle the decision to cooperate with Russia in the field of the Moon exploration upon the projects of “Moon – Globe” (Moon-25), the first mission of “Moon – Recourse” and its continuation – “Moon – Recourse” with lander,” he said.
“Moon – Globe” (Moon-25) is Russia's first lunar vehicle in the years since “Moon-24” explorer launched in 1976.
As it was reported earlier, the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roskosmos) intended to spend 4,5 billion rubles ($76 million) on the creation of “Moon – Globe” lander.
