Russian section of energy bridge to Japan attracts $2 billion in investment

The volume of investment in the construction of a Russian section of energy bridge connecting Russia and Japan will total some $1,97 billion, the director general of Rosseti, Oleg Budargin, told reporters on Tuesday.  




According to him, this amount appears in the preliminary evaluations of the feasibility study of the project for Asian Energy Ring.

Oleg Budargin noted that SoftBank Japanese telecommunication company introduced options for laying a submarine cable, the volume of investments in which would amount to $5,24 billion.

Almost all the countries from Asian Pacific region showed their interest in the project.

Energy bridge from Russia to Japan is a part of a large-scale Asian Energy Ring, which is designed to unite energy systems of China, Russia, Japan, South Korea and Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
