In 2017, investments in the second under construction power unit of Novovoronezh nuclear power plant will amount to 8.77 billion rubles (approximately $148 million), Rosenergoatom informs with a reference to the director of Novovoronezh NPP, Vladimir Povarov.
As a reference, the first unit of Novovoronezh NPP-2 was put into commercial operation on 27 February 2017. Since the moment of power start-up, the unit has produced 1.8 billion kWh of electricity.
“Putting into commercial operation the №1 power unit of Novovoronezh NPP-2 is a world record, on the scale of the station, Russia, and the global nuclear industry as a whole. At present, it is the only fully implemented reference in the category of "3+",” Rambler News quotes Rosatom’s Chief Executive Officer, Alexey Likhachev.
