Italian President Sergio Mattarella awarded Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov with the Order “For merits to the Italian Republic” for implementation of projects involving buildings’ restoration, the press office of the Russian businessman said.
According to its representative, the award was given, in particular, in the appreciation of Alisher Usmanov’s involvement in the projects of restoration of Manor of Berg in Moscow, which has been housing the Italian Embassy in the Russian Federation since 1924.
Russian billionaire has also been engaged in restoration of the Hall of the Horatii and Curiatii in the Capitoline museums, the Fountain of the Dioscuri on the Quirinal square and the Forum of Trajan in Rome.
