Ford Motor may start the production of a luxury crossover under the brand of Lincoln in China by the end of 2019, Rambler News reports.
The company plans to produce a new model on the capacities of the plant, which the company manages jointly with China's Chongqing Changan. On the part of the Chinese partner, the approval is pending, a spokesman for Ford added.
At present, Lincoln vehicles are imported into China. Last year, the sales of the brand in the country have grown by almost 180% — up to 32.56 million items, according to the company. In the year 2016, the dealer network of Lincoln in China was expanded up to 65, and it is planned to reach 80 by the end of 2017.
