In 2016, the number of dollar millionaires in Russia has increased up to 132 thousand people — by 10% compared to the year 2015.
In Europe, however, their number decreased by 4%. The corresponding data is provided in the monitoring of social and economic status and well-being conducted by the Institute for social analysis and forecasting at Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
The document was presented at a press conference in TASS conference hall.
“According to Knight Frank Research, in 2016, the number of dollar millionaires in Russia increased in comparison with the previous year by 10% and amounted to 132 thousand people (or 0.1% of the number of Russians aged over 15 years), and the number of persons with a fortune of more than $1,000 million increased by 11% and amounted to 83 persons,” the report reads.
