Russian President Vladimir Putin assured that the Nord Stream project is not aimed against other countries, and Russia is ready to cooperate with other partners, including Ukraine.
“This project is not directed against any of our partners, including Ukrainian ones,” — the head of state said at a meeting with Chairman of the Board of BASF, Kurt Bock.
“We are ready to pursue relations with our partners, including those with Ukraine as a transit country”, the President assured.
“We proceed from the fact that we will be provided with reliable, cost-effective market conditions for joint work”, — Vladimir Putin added.
He described the project as completely natural. “With the growth of consumption (of gas — editor’s note) in Europe and with declining production on the part of our European partners, Nord Stream-2 is an absolutely natural project,” — he stressed.
