Putin and Orban discussed European Commission’s decision on Paks NPP

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban in a telephone conversation expressed satisfaction with the decision of the European Commission removing obstacles for construction of two new power units of NPP Paks, according to the Kremlin’s press office.




“At the initiative of the Hungarian party, there was a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban... In particular, the parties expressed their satisfaction with the decision of the European Commission removing obstacles in the path of the project implementation with the participation of Rosatom State Corporation for the construction of two new power units at a Hungarian nuclear power plant Paks”, — the message reads.

According to the document, the parties also discussed topical issues of bilateral relations, including the implementation of agreements reached during the visit of the Russian President in Budapest on 2 February 2017.
