The Russian Investigative Committee believes that the release from custody in France of the Moscow region’s ex-Minister of Finance, Alexey Kuznetsov, can be linked to political processes, and expresses the hope for a common sense of the French colleagues.

We should remind you that Alexey Kuznetsov is accused of the embezzlement of budgetary funds in especially big amount.

“As it became known, France has adopted a decision to release Alexei Kuznetsov, the former Minister of Finance of the Moscow region, and to change his pre-trial restrictions. This decision, an unjustified one, in our view, is an unprecedented delay by the authorities of the French Republic of the extradition of Kuznetsov, who is accused of the embezzlement of budgetary funds in especially big amount,” a spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, Svetlana Petrenko, told Interfax.
