Russian Spirit non-governmental organization and the city administration of Surgut, Russia, agreed on the installation of a bust of Joseph Stalin.
A location for the monument will be selected on April 27, at a session of the Toponymy Commission, Chairman of the NGO, Denis Hanzhin, told TASS news agency on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, as of yet, the press office of the Surgut administration declined to comment on the issue.
“With the support of the local branch of the Communist party, we managed to negotiate with the city administration a question of the installation of Stalin’s bust in Surgut. We proposed to install it on the 9th of May, at the Memorial of Glory, near the Eternal Flame. However, the location might change after a session of the Toponymy Commission. Now, the bust of Stalin is stored in a warehouse in the city administration, and we collect the necessary documents”, - Hanzhin specified.
