Man from Saint Petersburg sets world record for taxi trip distance

Local resident of the Russian city of Saint Petersburg set a world record for taxi trip distance, he passed 12,500 km by taxi to another Russian city of Magadan. The experiment costed him 233,130 roubles.




According to the local media, the passenger is enthusiastic about the trip, which he carried out together with a group of motorcycle tourists within the framework of an expedition entitled “Get Into A Car And Go To Magadan”. The event was organized with the participation of the Russian Geographic Society with the purpose to promote domestic tourism.

The automobile race started in Saint Petersburg on the 27th of June and finished in Magadan on the 31st of July. A partial washaway of the bridge across the Elga River turned out to be the main problem for the race’s participants.
