In the year 2017, the Russian Railways plans to build the third main track at a section of Kosulino-Bazhenovo, the Tyumen direction of the Trans-Siberian Railroad, at a cost of 5 billion rubles ($80 million), the press-service of the Sverdlovsk regional branch of the company informed on Monday.




“At present, within the investment program of OJSC Russian Railways, one of the stages of the project, namely “Reconstruction of Kosulino-Bazhenovo”, is being implemented. The third track will be on the ground of the Sverdlovsk railway. So, in 2016, traffic is planned to be opened on the third track at a section of Bazhenovo-Mezen-Gagarski with the reconstruction of the respective stations. In 2017, the third track with electrification of the entire Kosulino-Bazhenovo section is expected to be commissioned. 21.7 kilometers of main tracks and 40.2 km of station ones will be built”, the representative of the press office said.
