The Energy Ministry of Russia predicts an increase in the share of renewable energy sources and nuclear energy in the world up to 23% by year 2035, the head of the body, Alexander Novak, said at the World Petroleum Congress.
“The fastest growing source of energy will be renewable energy. The share of renewable energy and nuclear power in the world will increase from 15% to 23% by 2035,” the press office of the Ministry quotes Alexander Novak.
The Minister has also noted that the demand for energy will grow globally, although its structure and geography will alter. According to him, the growth of world energy supply by 2040 will be at least 25%.
“A center of consumption growth will shift to Asia, the Middle East, Africa, where it will grow at least 1.5 times,” he added.
