The construction of a transportation transit corridor between Russia and Turkmenistan has great potential.
The President of Turkmenistan, Gurbunguly Berdymukhamedov, spoke about this in the course of his meeting with the Head of the RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Lavrov. According to him, the Caspian ferry infrastructure has already been built and it functions. Besides this, all Turkmen ships are repaired in the Astrakhan region.
The Turkmen leader also stressed the successful cooperation between the two countries in construction, agriculture, the oil sector and the textile industry.
From his standpoint, Russia and Turkmenistan have achieved a significant increase of trade turnover after last year’s sitting of the intergovernmental committee. The President of Turkmenistan appealed to Russian constructors to build transportation infrastructure in his country.
