The RF Ministry of Defense, together with some industrial enterprises, are completing the development of new invisible panel vehicular bridges.
The RF Deputy Minister of Defense and General of the Army, Dmitry Bulgakov, told Construction.ru about this. He remarked that the invisibility of these banksides means they are undetectable by modern systems.
This is necessary for increasing the sustainability and survivability of the banksides. The new structures will be built of composites and other innovational materials. Their use will provide for a decrease in the total weight of panel bridges for vehicles, an increase of their weight-carrying capacity and the bay length, and a reduction in assembly time. The introduction of the bridges will decrease maintenance support expenses and will increase operational and storage terms. The work on the creation of the structures is being conducted by defense enterprises without budget financing.
