Advanced equipment from IKEA’s furniture factory has been tested in the Russian city of Novgorod.

The enterprise has been built on the basis of a plant for lumber-core board production, the regional press office told Construction.ru on Wednesday. IKEA purchased the facility back in 2013 from the Pfleiderer company.

It should be noted that IKEA has invested over 50 m euro into the work at the construction site of a new production facility as well as in its equipment.

After the enterprise has been fully put into operation this summer, it will allow IKEA to drastically increase its volume of output of household furnishing items, items that are very in-demand from the Russian consumers.

It should be mentioned that IKEA hypermarkets are located in 14 MEGA malls all over Russia.
